The Russian Science Foundation announced the results of competition “Conducting Basic Scientific Research and Exploratory Scientific Research by Small Individual Scientific Groups.”
The competition is intended for supporting and developing research teams that hold leading positions in certain fields of research. On the whole, more than 1200 research teams of the country were supported. These include researches of small research groups of Samara National Research University:
· “Development of Effective Schemes of Parallel Atomistic-to-Continuum Description of Fracture and Nonlinear Deformation Processes” under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Mathematical Modelling in Mechanics of Larisa Stepanova;
· “Methods for Generating Feature-Based Descriptions of Human Actions” under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Geoinformatics and Information Security of Evgeny Myasnikov;
· “Synthesis and Investigation of Novel Heterostructures for the Development of Highly Sensitive Self-Powered Photodetectors Without Requiring a Remote Power Source and Highly Sensitive Polarization Sensitive Photodetectors for the Infrared Region of the Solar Spectrum” under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Nanoengineering of Nishant Tripathi;
· “Multiple Social Identity as a Context of Productive Activity” under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Social Psychology of Alla Gudzovskaya;
· “Atmospheric Aircrafts Layout Synthesis Using Multidisciplinary Optimization and Neural Networks” under the supervision of Associate Professor of the Department of Aircraft Construction and Design of Oleg Lukyanov.
All project supported by the RSF are intended for conducting researches in order to develop novel themes and forming research teams and realized by groups of 2 to 4 people. At the time, not less than 50% of research group are young scientists of the age up to 39 years. Size of one grant amounts to up to 1.5 million rubles every year.
